The Waikerie Markets are held monthly on the Civic Centre lawns showcasing the finest arts, culture, wine, food, music and entertainment. Waikerie Australia Day Event
The Waikerie Australia Day Event is a community-based event held in the local township of Waikerie, in January, to support and promote the continued growth and development for tourism within the town and of course to celebrate the true values of Australia Day. Riverland Dinghy Derby
Since 1981 the Dinghy Derby has been the pinnacle of dinghy racing in the world, held over 100km in the unique river and creek systems around Renmark in South Australia. Teams race for the glory of becoming one of the selected few to win this prestigious race, held on the first Sunday in February each year, operating 6 rounds, with the event concluding in October. The Derby caps off a huge weekend of racing with the Renmark Club Dash for Cash held at the Renmark water front, under lights.
Riverland Rock and Roll Festival
“Rock” the weekend away with the annual Riverland Rock and Roll Festival, held in Waikerie on the first weekend in May each year. A “star studded event”, full of entertainment for the family, featuring live acts from some of the worlds most famous rock bands and solo artists, this is one event you sure will not want to miss.
Riverland Paddling Marathon
Since 1988 the Riverland Paddling Marathon (RPM) has stamped its trademark as one of the most enduring festival marathons across the Riverland, where paddlers from all over the country gather on the Murray River in South Australia’s beautiful Murray River to meet, greet and most importantly to paddle. There are 6 possible events over 3 days on 1 weekend in the chilly month of June each year.
Riverland Waikerie Enduro
The Waikerie Riverland Enduro is an Offroad Race, held in July each year and is run by the Waikerie Riverland Offroad Racing Association. The Association has been running offroad events for more than 40 years at various club, state and national levels. The race is run on local farming land in the Waikerie District and the types of vehicles which compete are varied in class and power.
The Loxton Show is an annual event held on the October Long Weekend each year which brings people from across the Riverland & Mallee together to celebrate the agricultural and horticultural heritage of the region. The Show caters for its patrons with many exciting sights, including livestock, grain and fodder, handicrafts, gardening, competitions, vintage machinery, specialty trade sites, sideshows, live entertainers and Show rides.
Riverland Food and Wine Festival
Set in a unique environment on the bank of the mighty Murray River at Berri and shaded by huge riverside trees, the Riverland Wine & Food Festival, held in October each year, is an opportunity to get together with your friends and enjoy the “sweet indulgence” that the Riverland has to offer – local wine, beer, cider, sangria, and delicious food accompanied by live entertainment and an incredible atmosphere, all in one place – the beautiful riverfront in Berri. This section of the riverfront has shade aplenty and complete lawn cover so provides an excellent location for this event.
Waikerie Community Flower Show
Held in October each year, the Waikerie Community Flower Show brings together the best flowers, plants and floral art that the Waikerie Community has to offer each year. If you are a gardener or love flowers, then linger a little longer to our event.
The Riverland Speedway is located on the Sturt Highway at Calperum and operates once a month, for 5-6 months of the year, generally during the Spring and Summer months, predominately from November to April. The speedway is a venue for sedans, open wheeled sections, karts, solos, sidecars and classics. The track surface is a combination of crusher dust and clay and is shaped like a ‘D’, extending 330 metres long.
Novita Mighty River Run
Join SA’s largest charity flotilla along the Mighty River Murray – supporting kids living with disability in South Australia. Established by Patrons, John Riddell (Channel 7), Jason “Snowy” Carter and Russell Ebert, The Mighty River Run takes up to 40 boats and their crews on a six-day trip along the Murray in the month of November.
